Griechisches Restaurant Symposium in Lorrach

We ordered 4 dishes online via Lieferando on December 4th, 2020. Unfortunately the food was as warm as it is in our guest room. After I complained by phone, I was asked to write an email that I would like to publish here: "Dear Sir or Madam, dear Mr. Matthaios, Unfortunately, I am addressing you today with a complaint. During this time, my wife and I want to specifically support the gastronomy, which we also visit personally at "normal" times. We are all the more pleased that you are offering a delivery service, which we will do today on December 4th. 2020. I'll try to be brief ... Today we ordered 2 starters and 2 main courses to end the evening relaxed with their well-known, very appealing food. To our delight, the delivery time was much earlier than stated. However, we were so disappointed with their delivery that a relaxed dinner was not possible. The food was of high quality, as we are used to from you, but it burned my soul and I picked up the phone. I described the situation to Mr. Matthaios and he asked me to please write down what I want to do with this. I know that they are struggling a lot under the restrictions at the moment (my son works as a cook in an established hamlet gastronomy), that's why I like to leave out the reduced amount of dishes and accept their reduced cost estimate. However, if I order 4 dishes from you for just under € 60, I am expecting AT LEAST a reasonably warm meal. Our food was delivered at ambient temperature, which in my opinion is not at all acceptable. The plastic transport bag in which our main course was delivered was flooded with oil and ended up polluting our Christmas table runner. We will definitely get this clean again and should not be the main reason for my complaint. However, if at the end I have to warm up my food in the microwave to an acceptable temperature for consumption, that's an absolute no-go in this price range. They can also imagine how food changes when it is warmed up. In short: we were immensely disappointed with your service and do not believe that you will be satisfied with catering supporters. Mr. Matthaios kindly offered us to deliver the ordered food again, but we didn't want to accept this offer at a late hour. Mr. Matthaios behaved very customer-oriented on the phone with the complaint and assured that this complaint would not be ignored. I would appreciate your feedback, because I think that we can only get out of this crisis together. With this in mind, I hope that you will process this email appropriately and adapt your service accordingly With best regards Xxxxxxxxx " Now that a total of 5 days have passed and I still haven't received a statement, I think that this restaurant is doing well so far and that they allow for such a complaint. It's a shame that some service providers still haven't got it.

You eat very well; can only be recommended !!

The food was very tasty. The service really bad !! We were 6 people we were seated well then he came and took the drinks and we wanted a red wine, he told us he had a very good wine for us that was not on the menu. He brought the wine to us and didn't tell us anything about the wine, didn't tell where it came from or how it was or how much it cost he just opened the bottle and only after I asked what kind of wine it was he said it and we did hardly understood his pronunciation. well ok the wine was good and we took it. Then 5 meals came and the sixth meal came 10 minutes later (a salad !!!!!!) Our food was getting cold at the moment because we were waiting for the lady to eat so that she doesn't have to eat alone. the food was still delicious. I told him that I would later take over the bill and he brought it to us right away, ALTHOUGH someone was still eating 😱 Of course I paid quickly because I didn't want to argue with the others about the bill. he then offered us a coffee because of the salad 2 gentlemen took esspresso and the ladies capochino. the 2 esspresso came immediately and the capochino again 10 minutes later, at first I thought he had forgotten 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️ I was already there 2 days before the food was very good and the service only comes if you call a few times but today I was really embarrassed that I brought my guests there. I go villt alone. going back because of the food but definitely not with someone. 😵

Lunch menu top👍 good quality and affordable

We went there three times and were very disappointed each time. The service really left a lot to be desired, almost arrogant looking staff. Gyros were of poor quality and we'd rather not talk about the calamari. They were so disgusting, stinky and real rubber rings that I had enough after one bite. The other times and other dishes couldn't score or convince. It is a particular shame that it was a celebration that was really messed up by the lousy service / food. We cannot recommend this restaurant.

Very tasty and friendly staff. The portions are large and fill you up. The best Greek in the district 😊

After we were brought to the table by a very personable waiter, the "head waiter" came shortly afterwards and asked clumsily (no greeting or the like) whether we had made a reservation. We politely denied and pointed out that our colleague had brought us to the table. Then it was made clear to us that we had to leave the table (by the way, no excuse for the circumstances or the like) and as an excuse that the colleague had "no idea" (very collegial). Sorry, but you should have an overview of the few tables and the respective reservations in the outdoor area and prepare your staff accordingly. Equipping the tables with reserved signs is of course also a possibility, but apparently you don't have enough of that, according to the head waiter. In the aftermath, however, perfectly fine for me after I saw the carelessly arranged plates on other guests' tables.

Dry grill plate, extremely poor service (about 15 minutes for a reaction from the four waiters), no asking for more drinks, but the lamb was good and the maneuvers of the bus drivers who always had to reset at the corner in front of the restaurant were amusing . ;-)

Was OK. Normal lunch menu! Stars in travel guides are unlikely, but for the price you can always go there. The service is friendly and fast, in short, those who are hungry and in a hurry can always dare.

The food was great ... the only thing I didn't like was the waiter who tried both with me and with my friend to get it wrong and take 50 euros .... the rest of the staff were very kind

Wonderful food and service! Good price and great location

Very tasty food and friendly staff. Had the Bifteki special and it tasted great. The decor and the flair of the restaurant was also great. Only the air conditioning was set a bit too cool for my taste, but I like it warm. Can highly recommend the restaurant.

Expensive, not much kommunikative

Good food, you can sit outside well. Have been there several times and always satisfied, even if the service can be a bit slow at peak times.

The food was ok nothing special... we got a gyros portion and it came with half pita and a tiny portion of tzatziki was not even half a spoon.... at least the gyros was tasty and the waiters were friendly... the decoration inside the restaurant is also good.......

Slow service, all menus looked the same, quick, cheap and easy preparation, expensive. Not again.

We ordered Helena plate and chicken salad. They were both delicious and their design was unique. The potato chips is also awesome. They also gave us a welcoming drink which had a strong taste.

Esse was delicious and appealing 👍 Restaurant was big and clean ⭐️ Service was ok 👌

Food was good, but card machine wasn't working, which they forgot to inform us about when we sat down.

Always well visited, as both the atmosphere and the service are very authentic. The restaurant is modern and yet comfortably furnished with Greek flair. It offers a wide selection of fish and meat dishes, freshly prepared and of consistently good quality. Vegetarians will certainly find something. If you like the Greek cuisine, you can dine there for a quick lunch, as well as for an extended evening with friends. We were always warmly received and courteous. Many Thanks.

I ate a menu with some price points. 46? Be sure to cook 47 times lamb I put cheese on it, I got it with zucchini. The meat was soft and really delicious. To the gimme! Dorade fish dishes are not for the price. (It's delicious, but not Dorade ....) - Whole salads - Sue shot - Traditional style It comes out by default

Great restaurant for a cozy evening in groups, as a couple or as a family. The dishes are simple and you get enough. You can tell the loving treatment of the Greeks. They take the time to explain and to be friendly. Very pleasant on my visit. + Food + Cleanliness + Presentation of the dishes + Friendly and humorous service + Very reasonable price for the quality I will definitely come back again. Went here while staying in Basel and was pleased not to pay Swiss prices for a meal. Food and service was good. Was given free salad starter and shot of Ouzo. If coming from Basel it's a bit far from the border to walk but close to train

Unexpectedly was Surprisingly good!!

Loved their Gyros! The moscato wine is extremely sweet and delicious. If you like a very sweet wine I recommend it. I even bought a bottle to drink back at the hotel!

Serving was good with decent waiting time I had lamb and we were served with a shot of ouzo (on the house). The weiter knew 6 languages but not mine :) Food was good, location is almost perfect, and also has a terrace that is covered, can smoke if you want. I would go there again to try something else, so I recomand the place.

Lovely Greek restaurant, big portions and quick service.

A very nice Greek restaurant. We found all the food to be very good and the fresh mussels and baklava were excellent. The prices were a bit high, but still reasonable. The staff was very friendly. The only issues we had were the noisy environment and service was a bit slow. However, it was 7PM on a Saturday and very busy. Reservations are strongly recommended.
